Sustainability & Product Care

At Kreative Bunting Limited, we design and manufacture bespoke bunting and printed flags with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and responsible production. This page explains our environmental approach, sustainable product options, and how you can care for your bunting to extend its life and reduce waste.

Our Sustainability Commitment

We are committed to understanding and managing the environmental, economic, and social impacts of our operations. Our approach is aligned with ISO 14001 principles and good practice in sustainable procurement.

Key elements of our approach include:

  • Responsible materials:

  • We offer FSC-certified paper and bio-synthetic paper options for printed pennants, and use cotton webbing for our eco-friendly bunting range.

  • Sustainable manufacturing:

  • Products are made in-house in Northampton, with quality checks to ISO 9001 standards to reduce waste from defects and rework.

  • Continuous improvement:

  • We regularly review our suppliers, materials, and processes to improve environmental performance, including energy use, waste management, and product durability.

  • For customers completing sustainability questionnaires (such as EcoVadis), this page can be used as evidence of our customer-facing environmental communication and product care guidance.

Sustainable Product Options

When ordering from kreativebunting.co.uk, you can choose from the following more sustainable options:

  • Eco-Friendly Printed Bunting

  • Pennants: FSC paper or bio-synthetic paper

  • Webbing: Cotton (more natural and repairable than some synthetics)

  • Finishing: Sewn and quality checked to ISO 9001

  • Packaging: Recyclable paper bags

  • Suitable for indoor and short-term outdoor use; bio-synthetic is 100% waterproof and more durable than standard paper.

Standard Printed Bunting (with sustainability considerations)

  •   Printed on gloss, silk, or matt art paper, with optional upgrade to more durable synthetic paper to extend product life.

  • Sewn into polypropylene webbing for strength.

  • Can be supplied in recyclable paper bags on request.

PVC / Nylon Bunting (durable, long-life option)

  • For long-term or repeated use, PVC or 4oz PU-coated nylon bunting is highly durable and weather-resistant.

  • While not "bio-based", its long life and reusability can reduce overall environmental impact compared to frequently replaced short-life products.

If sustainability is a priority for your event or organisation, tell us when you order and we can recommend the most appropriate materials and construction for your use case.

Sustainable Procurement & Customer Collaboration

We view our customers as partners in improving sustainability:

  • We welcome requests for "more sustainable materials", reduced packaging, and longer-life constructions.

  • We can support "sustainable procurement policies" by providing product specifications, material information, and care guidance for your internal records.

  • For repeat or large-volume customers, we can discuss options such as standardising on more sustainable product lines, consolidating deliveries, and planning for reuse or recycling at end of life.

  • If you need specific information for your own CSR or sustainability reporting (e.g., materials used, country of manufacture), please contact us and we will provide details in writing.

Product Care & Longevity

Looking after your bunting properly helps it last longer, reduces waste, and improves the overall sustainability of your purchase.

General Care Guidelines

Indoor use

  •  Keep paper and eco-friendly bunting away from direct water, high humidity, and heat sources.

  • Avoid touching printed surfaces with greasy or wet hands to reduce smudging and wear.

  • When not in use, store loosely coiled or folded in a dry place, ideally in the original packaging or a clean box.

Outdoor use

  • Use synthetic paper, bio-synthetic, PVC, or nylon bunting for outdoor events; standard paper is not suitable for wet conditions.

  • Take down bunting in strong winds or severe weather to prevent tearing and damage.

  • After outdoor use, allow bunting to dry fully before storing to prevent mould or paper degradation.

Cleaning

  • Do not wash paper-based bunting. For synthetic, PVC, or nylon, lightly wipe with a damp cloth if needed and allow to air dry completely.

  • Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaning materials.

Storage & Reuse

  • Store bunting away from direct sunlight to reduce fading over time.

  • Inspect before reuse; minor repairs (e.g., restitching a loose flag) can significantly extend product life.

End of Life

  • Paper components may be suitable for recycling with paper waste if free from heavy lamination or mixed materials; check local recycling rules.

  • For synthetic, PVC, or nylon bunting, consider reuse, donation, or specialist recycling where available rather than general waste.

  • Following these care steps helps you get maximum value from your bunting and supports our shared goal of reducing waste and environmental impact.
